'Skywords provides the most accurate, complete traffic information collection and dissemination system in Canada.' Traffic specialists located in regional information centres collect traffic information, synthesize it into reports, and customized it to fit the broadcast and programming requirements of participating radio and TV stations. Traffic information is gathered from Provincial police forces, aerial observation by aircraft over major urban arteries, camera surveillance of heavily used highways and mobile patrols on primary commuter routes. Data is entered into a working data base so that the most 'up-to-the-minute' information is only a keystroke away. Traffic reports from airborne broadcasts are wrapped with ground based information then broadcast to affiliated networks. Reports are available around the clock every 10 minutes or as required. In addition to radio broadcast Skywords fax service offers the same reports with the same frequency from 5:30 am to 12 am daily.
